Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and service-driven Agent in Charge to join our dynamic retail team. The Agent in Charge serves as an operational leader on the sales floor, supporting staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring compliance under the direction of the Assistant General Manager.

The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about cannabis products and regulations, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates strong leadership and organizational skills. This role is essential in maintaining Ivy Hall’s exceptional standards of hospitality, compliance, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Education
  • Greet customers with warmth, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Guide customers through their cannabis education journey, providing personalized recommendations without offering medical advice
  • Build lasting relationships with regular customers to encourage loyalty and repeat visits
  • Promote a culture of hospitality and education aligned with Ivy Hall’s values
Store Operations & Leaderships
  • Open and close the store as directed by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager
  • Support Budtenders with product, POS, and compliance-related questions
  • Oversee cash handling accuracy, including daily payouts and bank drops
  • Retrieve cannabis products from the vault and distribute them to Budtenders for sale
  • Review and verify online orders to ensure accuracy prior to pick-up
Inventory & Compliance
  • Assist in regular inventory cycle counts, reporting discrepancies to retail leadership promptly
  • Verify product tagging and paperwork in compliance with state and local regulations
  • Support the Inventory Manager with reconciliation of physical inventory and state tracking systems
  • Monitor POS and scale functionality to ensure accurate product tracking and reporting
  • Maintain strict compliance with all state, local, and internal operating procedures
Team Collaboration & Development
  • Provide training and mentorship to Budtenders, fostering growth and confidence in their roles
  • Partner with management to ensure smooth daily operations and achieve sales goals
  • Participate in ongoing cannabis education and training opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment that values communication and collaboration

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of retail or hospitality experience in a customer-facing or supervisory role
  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to register as a cannabis agent with the state
Technical & Physical Skills
  • Proficient in office and retail systems (POS, Microsoft Word, Excel, email, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and stand or walk for extended periods
  • Comfortable bending, kneeling, and reaching with or without assistance
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements and attention to detail
Knowledge & Interests
  • Interest in cannabinoids, terpenes, and cannabis product applications
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn state and local cannabis regulations
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth through continuous learning
Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, and position objects, tools, or controls.

  • Hearing: Normal audio range, with or without correction
  • Vision: Close observation and ability to adjust focus

Working Environment

Work is performed both remotely and in a retail environment. The noise level is usually moderate. These characteristics represent those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
