Description:

The Central Kentucky Regional Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programming in the Central Kentucky area and surrounding regions. This role will coordinate and deliver a range of programming events, including but not limited to: makerspace-oriented workshops, medium to large scale annual events, partnership events, and series programming. The Regional Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing Central Kentucky and surrounding county programming availability, event numbers, and website calendar updates. This role is also responsible for creating and maintaining community partnerships with local businesses and organizations. The Central Kentucky Regional Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Program Strategy while working in collaboration with the Girl Scout Program team and other departments (membership, volunteer) as well as region/event-based committees (Program and Activities Committee, GEMS Planning Committee, etc) to ensure a successful model for member retention.

This is an on-site position with remote work eligibility after a 90 day probation. The standard work schedule is 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Requests for remote work must be approved by supervisor.

Requirements:

Program Management & Execution:

  • Lead and support programming at the Lexington service center as well as annual and regular events such as GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science), Holiday Express, GEMS Jr, Boo Crew, and others.
  • Train Central Kentucky program volunteers. Regional and events-based committee liaison.
  • Expand GSLE (Girl Scout Leadership Experience), volunteer-led and community partner-led programs at the makerspace and throughout Central Kentucky.??
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for the effective delivery of regional events and program opportunities.
  • Promote and assist with council-wide programs, activities, public relations, and fund development endeavors.

Data Analysis & Program Evaluation:

  • Analyze program effectiveness, collect data, and generate detailed reports for program partners and funders as needed, ensuring timely submission of all required reports.
  • This may include data reporting, meetings supporting grant-funded initiatives, and after-action reviews.
  • Meet with other departments periodically (Fund Development, Finance, Marketing, etc).

Finances & Sustainability:

  • Prepare, coordinate, and report budgets for older girl events and program opportunities in collaboration with department leadership.
  • Collaborate with the fund development team on sponsorship strategy, with a targeted focus in fostering event sustainability.
  • Meet with finance team in monthly meetings.

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Design and implement strategies to recruit, train, and support adult volunteers who will deliver Girl Scout programming through innovative delivery models.
  • Support the professional development of adult volunteers and leaders, ensuring their success in delivering high-quality programming.

Community Outreach & Engagement:

  • Foster community awareness and visibility through active participation in youth coalitions, inter-agency meetings, and other community engagement efforts.
  • Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in all aspects of program delivery and community engagement.

Customer Service:

  • Project a positive and professional image of Girl Scouting.
  • Provide and ensure professional, superior customer service is provided to all internal and external customers, members, volunteers, staff, and other community contacts.
  • Active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and access through words, actions, and attitude.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management software products a plus.
  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Discretion, professionalism, and a strong sense of confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all Council policies and procedures.
  • Project a positive and professional image of Girl Scouts.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the Council's goals.
  • Non-profit knowledge preferred.

Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:

  • Travel as the job requires.
  • Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, set up work-related supplies and/or equipment weighing at least 30 pounds.
  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Provide own method of transportation, maintain valid driver's license with appropriate insurance.
  • Pass initial and periodic background and driver checks.

Other:

  • All buildings and camps are smoke/electronic/tobacco and vapor-free facilities.
