This role is focused on ensuring the accurate, secure, and efficient migration of enterprise data from legacy ERP systems into modern platforms such as Deltek Vantagepoint. You will work at the center of complex data transformation initiatives, where precision, structure, and technical depth directly influence financial and operational continuity. The position involves deep collaboration with cross-functional teams to define migration strategies, execute ETL processes, and validate large-scale datasets. You will also play a key role in safeguarding data integrity while optimizing migration workflows and improving overall data architecture. Operating in a highly analytical and detail-driven environment, your work ensures that critical business data is reliable, compliant, and ready for operational use. This is a high-impact role combining SQL expertise, ERP knowledge, and hands-on migration execution.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end data migration activities, including analysis, mapping, transformation, execution, and validation of enterprise datasets. You will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure seamless transition from legacy systems to Deltek Vantagepoint while maintaining data accuracy and consistency. You will also contribute to reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of migration processes.
- Define and document data migration requirements in collaboration with project teams
- Analyze and map data structures between legacy ERP systems and Deltek Vantagepoint
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation activities
- Develop and execute SQL-based ETL scripts, stored procedures, and queries
- Validate migration results through reconciliation and testing processes
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, anomalies, and performance issues
- Support production migration execution with minimal operational disruption
- Build and support reporting solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio
- Configure workflows within Deltek Vantagepoint to support business processes
- Act as a subject matter expert on data structures and migration best practices
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in SQL development, data migration, and relational database systems, along with hands-on exposure to Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint. You should be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with complex data environments and cross-functional teams. A solid understanding of financial data structures and ERP systems is highly valued.
- 8–12 years of overall professional experience, with at least 5+ years in SQL and data migration
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, views, and relational design)
- Hands-on experience with data mapping, ETL development, and migration execution
- Deep knowledge of Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint systems
- Strong understanding of database architecture, modeling, and migration methodologies
- Experience in data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional environments
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial data structures (preferred)
