Job Description
Reports to: Chief Advancement Officer
FLSA: Full-time hourly (nonexempt) position
Pay range: $21-$25/hour

Summary:
Working under the direct supervision of the chief advancement officer, the community relations coordinator increases awareness of SourcePoint’s services and strengthens connections with community members, referral sources, and partner organizations throughout Delaware County. The coordinator plans and conducts community outreach, represents SourcePoint at events and presentations, and develops sustained relationships that help older adults and caregivers connect with available resources. The position requires regular work in the community and occasional evening and weekend commitments.
Essential Job Functions:
Community Outreach and Promotion
- Responsible for marketing SourcePoint services and programs through community-based channels. Assist with SourcePoint brand management and furtherance.
- Develop and implement annual community relations calendar and maintain community relations databases. Track outreach key performance indicators and report annually.
- Staff booths and coordinate staff and volunteers for key community events throughout the year.
- Responsible for disseminating SourcePoint materials to health care and social service providers, faith organizations, libraries, and other key locations throughout the county.
- Train and schedule outreach volunteers and provide on-site direction during assigned events. Coordinate the speakers bureau, including scheduling speaking engagements, and develop and deliver presentations.
- Assist department with the planning and successful implementation of special events.
Cooperative Partnerships and Relationship Building
- Represent SourcePoint in selected community groups and coalitions that support organizational outreach and partnership goals.
- Build strong and sustained cooperative relationships with community partners, including but not limited to health care providers, social service organizations, first responders, faith-based organizations, businesses and human resource departments, and others.
- Help identify new partners and resources in the community, including but not limited to senior housing developments, health care providers, aging specialists, and others.
- Help identify and bridge connections between internal departments and community partners to cross-promote the resources available to older adults.
- Assist with identifying and selecting key sponsorship opportunities for SourcePoint to engage with community partners.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Experience developing community partnerships or referral networks.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to routinely speak before groups both small and large, with the ability to tailor presentations for different audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently in the community.
- Fluency with office software, including Microsoft Office, and strong research skills.
Education and Experience:
Three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or phone.
- Must be able to drive and accommodate a flexible schedule for off-site meetings and events. Approximately two to four evening or weekend commitments per month, with schedule adjustments provided within the same work week.
- Must be able to move about in various environments, including outdoors.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
Other:
In any organization, particularly a nonprofit organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities necessary to ensure a smooth continuity of operations. It is expected that other organizational needs will emerge, which will be assigned to the community relations coordinator if consistent with the position’s purpose, skills, and level of responsibility.
