We pride ourselves on a collaborative work environment, a team dedicated to innovation and safety, and our strong connection to the Appalachian Basin, the region we proudly call home and operate within.The OpportunityInfinity Natural Resources is seeking a Permitting Specialist to take ownership of surface permitting across our Appalachian Basin operations. In this role, you'll independently prepare and submit permit applications, work directly with regulatory agencies to keep projects on track, and serve as the go-to permitting lead for assigned operational projects. You'll partner closely with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental teams to ensure every application package is complete, accurate, and moves through the process efficiently. Physical Requirements
- Independently prepare and submit permit applications for a variety of oil and gas operational activities.
- Coordinate directly with regulatory agencies to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure timely permit approval.
- Review and interpret applicable regulations to ensure compliance across all applications.
- Maintain accurate permit logs, track approval timelines, and communicate status updates to the operations team.
- Collaborate with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental staff to ensure complete and accurate application packages.
- Participate in pre-application meetings with agencies to streamline the permitting process.
- Research and resolve moderately complex permitting issues and regulatory inquiries.
- Ensure timely renewal, amendment, or closure of permits as required.
- Provide training and guidance to junior permitting staff on procedures and best practices.
- Serve as the permitting lead for assigned operational projects, reporting status to asset development leadership.
- 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas permitting, operations, or regulatory compliance, or related experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas surface permitting processes and applicable operational regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret plats, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to resolve permitting challenges with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tracking systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 20% to field sites and agency offices.
- Ability to perform light work, including occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to see, hear, talk, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Ability to operate standard office/computer equipment.
