Windows Engineer in India at Jobgether

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Windows Engineer based in India.

This role is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise Windows Server infrastructure across complex environments.
You will work across Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, patching, virtualization, security, and high availability.
The position combines hands-on infrastructure administration with advanced troubleshooting and system performance optimization.
You will also use PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
The role offers exposure to VMware, Hyper-V, backup and disaster recovery, monitoring, and enterprise security practices.
You will collaborate across incident, problem, change, and service management processes while maintaining reliable infrastructure operations.

• Install, configure, administer, upgrade, migrate, harden, and decommission Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 environments.
• Manage Active Directory, including AD DS, OUs, users, groups, computer accounts, FSMO roles, and Sites & Services.
• Administer and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, authentication, domain connectivity, and related infrastructure services.
• Manage Windows patching through WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent enterprise platforms.
• Troubleshoot operating system, application, authentication, networking, performance, and system-level issues.
• Manage Windows Server roles, Failover Clustering, and high-availability environments.
• Support virtualized Windows workloads across VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Analyze system performance and capacity while identifying opportunities for optimization.
• Implement and maintain Windows security baselines, hardening standards, and endpoint security practices.
• Troubleshoot Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, certificates, and other authentication-related issues.
• Manage Windows services, scheduled tasks, event logs, registry settings, and system configurations.
• Support backup, restore, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline administration and reduce repetitive work.
• Monitor infrastructure using enterprise monitoring and logging platforms.
• Participate in incident, problem, change, and service request management processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and infrastructure reports.
• Provide 24x7 on-call or shift support when required.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 in enterprise environments.
• Solid knowledge of Active Directory, including AD DS, OUs, users, groups, FSMO, and Sites & Services.
• Practical expertise with DNS zones and records, DHCP scopes, Group Policy creation and troubleshooting, and enterprise Windows administration.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills for infrastructure management.
• Experience with Windows patching platforms such as WSUS, SCCM/MECM, or equivalent solutions.
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualized workloads.
• Knowledge of Windows security hardening, security baselines, endpoint security, and system configuration.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, basic routing, and firewall concepts.
• Experience with Windows monitoring, event logs, performance counters, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes covering incident, problem, change, and service requests.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a structured approach to diagnosing complex infrastructure issues.
• Good documentation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with large-scale data center environments is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Azure Virtual Machines, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Intune, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, IIS, PKI/Certificate Services, VMware vCenter/ESXi, ServiceNow, or enterprise monitoring platforms such as SCOM, SolarWinds, and Dynatrace is a plus.
