POSITION SUMMARY:

To serve meals to patients in a professional, courteous manner; assists patients in placing meal orders; assembles patient meal trays; runs FNS call center processes; oversees room service hosts and their processes. Follows organizational and departmental policies, AIDET and UNCHSE Standards of Behavior.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Required Qualifications / Promotion Eligibility

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Room Service Host or equivalent patient food service role in an acute care setting

Preferred:

• Three or more years of experience in patient food service

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication during interaction with others.
• Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
