This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Membership Specialist based in the United States.
As a Membership Specialist, you’ll play a key role in creating a smooth, supportive experience for members navigating digital healthcare services. You’ll manage membership-related questions through email and Slack, helping resolve account, billing, and access issues with speed and care. The role is highly member-focused and requires empathy, strong judgment, and excellent written communication. You’ll regularly support people who may be dealing with sensitive or frustrating situations, making calm and thoughtful communication essential. Working remotely, you’ll collaborate with internal teams to solve more complex issues and identify recurring trends. - Respond to membership-related emails within a four-hour window during business hours, ensuring timely and thoughtful support.
- Monitor and respond to member and internal team questions through Slack.
- Handle emotionally sensitive or challenging interactions with empathy, professionalism, and effective de-escalation.
- Troubleshoot account access, billing, membership status, and related issues.
- Document member interactions clearly and consistently while identifying recurring problems or trends.
- Partner with internal teams to investigate and resolve complex member issues.
- Protect member privacy and maintain a consistently respectful, empathetic, and professional communication style.
- Manage daily priorities independently while maintaining responsiveness and a high standard of member experience.
- Previous customer service experience, ideally in a role requiring frequent written communication and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate tense, emotional, or sensitive situations with empathy and clarity.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and kindly.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet a four-hour response-time expectation.
- Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- High integrity, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to helping people.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to work hands-on in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
- Experience with Zendesk is a plus.
- Customer retention or dispute-resolution experience is a plus.
- Interest in improving accessibility and outcomes within healthcare is highly valued.
- Candidates must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Candidates must reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, ID, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WI.
- Full-time remote position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Compensation of $15.00 per hour.
