We are seeking an Accounting Manager to add to our dynamic team! The Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data through such things as general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet preparation. They will also be responsible for supporting and optimizing accounting systems and processes to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy. The successful candidate will lead the corporate accounting and accounts payable teams in executing their functions to support informed decision-making and contribute to the organization's financial health and growth.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
  • Perform monthly entries and reconciliations for company fixed assets and leases
  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems to improve efficiency and data integrity
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely financial reporting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements by supporting regular audits and process reviews
  • Continually assess internal controls and provide suggestions for identified improvements
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff to foster professional development and high performance


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting processes
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and software, including Microsoft Excel
  • Significant experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, balance sheet preparation, fixed asset accounting, and month end processes
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with accounting in the healthcare industry as well as accounting for multi-site facilities
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Great Plains
  • CPA or CPA eligible
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in supporting variance analysis and financial forecasting/budgeting
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing accounting and accounts payable teams
