This is a high-impact finance leadership role within a fast-growing, international organization operating across multiple European entities. You will take ownership of financial control, reporting, and accounting operations for the EU region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial closing processes. Acting as a key financial leader, you will oversee accounting operations while driving improvements in reporting quality, financial processes, and governance. The role sits at the intersection of hands-on accounting, team leadership, and strategic financial partnering. You will also play a key role in post-merger integration activities, helping shape a unified and scalable finance function. This position offers strong exposure to international operations, transformation projects, and ERP implementation initiatives in a dynamic, remote-first environment.
- Take full responsibility for financial control, accounting operations, and reporting across European entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including consolidation and alignment with group reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with BE GAAP and relevant local regulations, coordinating audits and managing relationships with external auditors and advisors.
- Manage and develop the accounting team (AP, AR, and bank), ensuring operational efficiency, quality, and ownership across all financial processes.
- Act as a key business partner to controlling teams, supporting alignment between financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including standardization, automation, and optimization of financial processes and controls.
- Play an active role in ERP implementation (Oracle NetSuite), contributing to system setup, process design, and financial data quality improvements.
- Support post-merger integration by harmonizing financial processes and establishing consistent ways of working across European entities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, with 8–10+ years of relevant experience in accounting or controlling within international environments.
- Strong expertise in multi-entity structures, financial consolidation, and end-to-end accounting processes.
- Solid knowledge of BE GAAP, with IFRS knowledge considered a strong advantage.
- Experience working with Belgian and Dutch regulatory environments is highly desirable.
- Proven track record with ERP systems, ideally Oracle NetSuite, and involvement in system implementation or optimization projects.
- Experience in project-driven organizations, including revenue recognition and complex financial operations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing accounting or finance teams.
- Strong analytical mindset combined with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across international teams.
- Fluency in English is required; Dutch language skills are a strong plus.
- Preferably based in Belgium or the Netherlands.
- Fully remote and flexible working model with strong emphasis on autonomy and work-life balance.
- Competitive compensation aligned with experience and international market standards.
- Opportunity to participate in a dynamic, multicultural, and mission-driven organization.
- High level of ownership and empowerment in shaping financial processes and systems.
- Exposure to international projects, including post-merger integration and ERP transformation.
- Collaborative culture with strong focus on inclusion, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
- Opportunity to contribute to meaningful, science-driven work with real global impact.
- Occasional travel opportunities across international offices and teams.
