Job Summary:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician - Production is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and enforcing food safety and quality assurance programs for All Seasonings Ingredients, Inc. The FSQA Technician will be knowledgeable in all food safety compliance, such as HACCP, SQF, FDA, and other relevant standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute the food safety and quality assurance programs for ASI in coordination with the Operations Teams in Production and Warehousing
- Production Line checks and completion of assigned daily paperwork
- Ensure Food Safety GMPs are being followed, including observation & recordkeeping
- Assists with product Metal Detection, including but not limited to:
Verification of Metal Detection Challenge Testing
Working with the Operations team for the incoming product that fails the metal detection
Complete failed metal detector product sifting as assigned
- Coordination of operations, daily paperwork, including:
Review
Printing/preparing
Scanning & saving
- Sample and retain incoming & blended product by following ASI product sampling procedures
- Evaluate incoming & blended product to ensure it meets All Seasonings product requirements. Activities include but are not limited to:
Bulk Density
Taking pictures
- Prepare product samples to be sent for 3rd party testing & customer requests
- Prepare and execute ATP, Allergen & EMP swabbing with the Operations Team as needed
- Complete GMP & site inspections
- Works through Corrective Actions and Non-conforming Events as assigned by the supervisor
- Perform product, equipment, and processing audits & inspections
- QC holds management, including but not limited to physically placing QC hold tags on products & placing items on hold in the ERP system
- Log blends that are made each day
- Respond to internal QC questions and concerns from internal stakeholders.
- Tracking of supply inventory
- Maintain the FSQA area to ensure it is clean & organized
- Assisting with ensuring compliance of policies and procedures (GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and SOPs)
- Assist with verification activities as assigned by the supervisor
- May interface with regulatory agencies during inspections
- Purging of samples as needed to maintain the retention schedule

Qualifications:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal). This position interacts with multiple departments daily
- Problem-solving and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments
- Requires excellent scientific skills in the analysis, documentation, and interpretation of data
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
Experience, Education, and Training -
- Experience in Food QA, food manufacturing, or related experience with consumer food preferred
- License and/or Certification preference for GMP, HACCP, SQF
- Equivalent combinations of education and work experience will be considered
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is subject to the following requirements:
- Ability to see, talk, and hear
- The employee is often required to stand for long periods of time, and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type
- The employee is also required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb mezzanine stairs multiple times per day, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee is required to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Strong aromas of spice, allergens, and particulates in the air
