WE ARE A PREMIER AEROSPACE MANUFACTURER IN TACOMA AND WE ARE SEEKING EXPERIENCED PRODUCTION OPERATORS.
CREATE A LASTING CAREER AT GENERAL PLASTICS MANUFACTURING COMPANY, AND NOT JUST ANOTHER JOB!We are looking for skilled and motivated team members to work in our saw room, cutting polyurethane foam.
This is hands-on manufacturing. Meaning, you’ll be on your feet, working with your hands, working in a dusty environment, and meeting high-quality, aerospace production standards. Previous production experience is helpful but not required; full training will be provided. Reliable daily attendance is required. If you have a history of missing shifts or arriving late without notice, please do not waste your time or ours.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances
- Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, or sand plastic material
- Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools
- Perform general physical activities including those that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
- Measure parts before, during and after production to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, or tape measures
- Place or remove parts from cutting tables, manually or using hoists
- Replace defective blades or wheels, using hand tools
- Part Mark, stack, and sort cut material for packaging, further processing, or shipping, according to types and sizes of material
- Demonstrate a daily commitment to advancing the company’s core mission, vision and operational values.
- Other duties as assigned, such as helping other departments to meet company goals.

- Ability to work efficiently in a workshop environment

- Previous workshop, woodworking, framing, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must have previous experience in manufacturing (preferably in aerospace or plastics manufacturing)
- Must have 5+ years of demonstrated work experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing 8 hours per day
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50#
- Finger dexterity – the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- Arm-hand steadiness – the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
- Ability to work with or around chemical solvents
SHIFT
This position requires that you are available for either day or swing shift. We offer a $1.50 shift premium for anyone on swing shift. Overtime is optional and never mandatory! Right now, we are primarily hiring for day shift- 6 am to 2:30 pm

*****PAY STARTS BETWEEN $23 - $27 per hour, PLUS CASH BONUSES paid 3 times per year******
