This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Independent Contract Adjuster based in Canada.
This is a remote contract opportunity for experienced claims professionals supporting desktop property adjusting assignments across Canada.
You will assess residential or commercial property claims, analyze circumstances, and help deliver accurate and timely claim outcomes.
Assignments typically range from three to six months, with opportunities becoming available on an ongoing basis.
The role offers flexibility to work remotely from eligible Canadian provinces while leveraging established claims technology and support resources.
You will work independently while remaining connected to experienced claims professionals and centralized operational teams.
Strong analytical, communication, and customer-service skills are essential when managing complex claims and challenging situations.
This opportunity is well suited to licensed adjusters seeking flexible contract work with access to established systems, tools, and professional support.
- Manage desktop property adjusting assignments involving residential and/or commercial claims, according to assignment requirements and applicable provincial regulations.
- Analyze claim circumstances, assess cause-and-effect relationships, and apply sound judgment to support accurate claim handling and resolution.
- Review and document claim information thoroughly using established claims management systems and processes.
- Communicate effectively with customers and relevant stakeholders, including when handling sensitive, difficult, or potentially conflicting situations.
- Provide proactive and timely customer service, responding to inquiries and ensuring outstanding matters are followed up appropriately.
- Use claims technology and relevant software to support efficient claim assessment, documentation, and file management.
- Collaborate with claims support resources, experienced adjusters, and centralized teams when additional expertise or assistance is required.
- Maintain compliance with applicable licensing requirements, industry practices, and provincial regulations throughout each assignment.
- Minimum 3 years of claims experience, preferably with experience in property claims adjusting.
- A valid adjuster’s licence in your province of residence or another Canadian province, where permitted by applicable regulations.
- Must reside in Canada and be able to work remotely.
- Experience with Xactimate/Xactware is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify cause-and-effect relationships and evaluate claim circumstances.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict, difficult conversations, and customer concerns professionally.
- Strong customer-service orientation, with a proactive and positive approach to resolving inquiries efficiently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
- Additional licenses, certifications, or bilingual capabilities are considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain accuracy in a remote environment.
- Remote work: Work from anywhere in Canada, subject to applicable licensing and assignment requirements.
