Job Description
Customer Experience & Relationship Specialist
This is not a traditional customer service position.
We are a high-performing State Farm agency looking for someone who wants to make a difference, not simply take orders, process requests, and move on to the next task.
Yes, you'll help customers with billing questions, policy changes, coverage questions, claims guidance, and everyday insurance needs. But that's where the job starts, not where it ends.
We want someone who is naturally curious about people.
Someone who can turn a simple conversation into a meaningful relationship by asking great questions, listening for what matters, and learning about our customers' Family, Occupation, Recreation, and Money (FORM).
What You'll Do
- Deliver an exceptional experience when customers call, text, email, or visit our office.
- Resolve customer needs accurately, efficiently, and with genuine ownership.
- Build relationships instead of simply completing transactions.
- Ask thoughtful questions and identify needs customers may not have considered.
- Recognize opportunities to better protect customers and their families.
- Schedule customers with the appropriate team member when a deeper conversation would be valuable.
- Conduct proactive annual insurance and financial reviews to help customers understand their coverage, identify gaps, and make informed decisions.
- Follow up proactively rather than waiting for customers to contact us.
- Help us continuously improve the way we serve and retain our customers.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a great fit if you're:
- Naturally curious and genuinely enjoy talking with people.
- A strong listener who asks great follow-up questions.
- Warm, confident, and comfortable starting conversations.
- Proactive—you notice things and act without always being asked.
- Organized and able to balance relationships with getting things done.
- Coachable and interested in continuously improving.
- Comfortable having meaningful conversations about insurance and finances.
- Someone who takes ownership instead of saying, "That's not my job."
- Must be at least Personal Lines Licensed. Life and Health licensed a big plus
What Success Looks Like
A customer may call us because they need to replace a vehicle.
You take care of the vehicle—but during the conversation, you learn they recently got married, bought a home, had a child, changed jobs, or haven't reviewed their life insurance in years.
You don't pressure them. You get curious.
You ask a thoughtful question, help them recognize something worth discussing, and create an opportunity for our team to help.
That's the difference between processing a transaction and making a difference.
If you want a customer service job where you simply wait for the phone to ring and complete requests, this probably isn't the position for you.
If you want to solve problems, build relationships, ask better questions, and help people protect what they've worked hard to build, we'd love to meet you.
