The Position:
We are seeking an accomplished, seasoned Payroll/Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will lead project cost management, financial analysis, payroll processing, and Deltek Costpoint system administration. You will serve as a strategic partner to our program managers, providing the actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and operational workflows needed to maintain tight cost control, streamline billing, and ensure absolute regulatory compliance.

You will serve as a strategic partner to our program managers, providing the actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and operational workflows needed to maintain tight cost control, streamline billing, and ensure absolute regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute accurate end-to-end payroll processing while maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to corporate and federal guidelines.Interpret, execute, and legally deduct court-ordered wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies under federal and state calculation limits.Manage annual VETS-4212 reporting and handle Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance by generating and verifying internal workforce metrics for Forms 1094-C and 1095-C.Serve as the direct internal coordinator during labor and tax audits by the IRS, Department of Labor (DOL), or state unemployment agencies by compiling and formatting records to satisfy data subpoenas.Serve as the functional administrator for Deltek Costpoint, driving system optimization, data integrity, and process improvement across financial operations.Manage multi-million-dollar project setups, continuously monitor expenditures, and perform rigorous variance analysis to maintain project financial health.Prepare detailed financial reports and deliver actionable financial insights directly to program managers to improve overall performance visibility.Streamline billing operations to ensure accurate, timely invoicing, strict account reconciliations, and proactive collections management.Track payroll-related journal entries, compare general ledger movements against actual cash flows, and perform monthly bank statement reconciliations.Review, approve, and process corporate expense reports and standard mileage reimbursements through corporate pay cycles.Handle independent contractor compliance, collect W-9 forms, and ensure accurate non-employee compensation reports are cataloged for annual tax filings.Ensure all accounting operations, project setups, and workflows strictly align with DCAA, FAR, and other federal regulatory compliance requirements.Partner closely with cross-functional teams, site managers, and program leads to establish workflows that enhance operational efficiency and financial discipline.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related financial field.5+ years of proven expertise in project cost management, financial analysis, and accounting operations, heavily preferred within the federal government contracting sector.Deep hands-on experience and advanced proficiency in Deltek Costpoint system administration is required.Thorough understanding and proven track record of aligning financial operations with DCAA guidelines and FAR regulations.Advanced expertise in variance analysis, multi-million-dollar project setups, complex reconciliations, and end-to-end billing/collections workflows.Exceptional commitment to accuracy, strong cross-functional communication skills, operational efficiency, and the ability to thrive in a scaling environment.
