Job Description

Summary/Objective:
Acoustical Solutions, a national acoustical material supplier, currently has an opening for an Installation Project Manager. This is a full-time position that is primarily responsible for managing projects to install acoustical building materials, such as fabric wrapped panels and site-built fabric stretch systems on walls and ceilings in commercial spaces, public facilities, government locations as well as residential spaces. Project Managers review project estimates for labor and material costs based on site specific specifications and drawings Once awarded, they manage the project to completion coordinating with contractors and install crew members.

The role of a “Project Manager” is to manage the full scope of a job from start to finish. This includes activities such as costing, scheduling, site assessments, pre-job reviews, change orders, and post job analysis to drive continuous improvement. Project Managers must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while demonstrating company values, a strong commitment to customer service and quality.

Essential Functions:
• Manages the Install Team’s schedule maximizing utilization and value-added
time. Leverages sub-contractor resources as needed to meet customer
demand and relieve capacity constraints.
• Actively supports Daily Management, Continuous Improvement, and 5S
processes and Acoustical Solutions Core Values.
• Manages projects to ensure performance meets or exceeds expectations for

Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
• Schedules installation based on material lead times, crew availability, and the
customer’s preferred timing. Evaluates the customer’s schedule and readiness
through follow up emails and calls as the scheduled installation date
approaches. Adjusts the scheduled installation date as required.
• Completes site surveys to verify “as built” measurements.
• Coordinates material purchase to ensure “just in time” arrival prior to the
scheduled installation. Tracks delivery to the job site or warehouse and verifies
the material meets the quantity and quality requirements.
• Completes travel reservations (airline, auto, and hotel) and schedules rental
equipment delivery to the site.
• Schedules and visits the job site reviewing its readiness with the construction
site supervisor prior to the installation start date.
• Ensures materials, special equipment, and supplies are available and kitted so
that install team has everything needed to be successful.
• Briefs Team Lead on job definitions, scope, requirements, and expectations.
• Assists the team to load required material, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Visits job site during install process as required to support the install team.
• Helps unload the van/truck once the job is completed and ensure unused
material is returned to inventory correctly.
• Evaluates job performance analyzing estimated versus actual costs and
targeted margin. Notes observations and opportunities for improvements for
later discussion at the daily management meeting.
• Prepares and forwards close out documents to Accounting for invoicing.
Supports Accounting with identifying job related expenses as well as review
and approval of related subcontractor invoices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Quality Statement
The employee shall maintain constant awareness of quality control procedures, be able to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WI).

Supervisory Responsibility:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring Team Leads and Installers report on time, properly log time, and scheduling daily work / staff assignments. (note: “Project Manager” positions are not responsible for discipline of employees, hiring, firing, or other related tasks)

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
• Standing, sitting, walking, stooping; reach with hands and arms, talking and
hearing.
Required Education and Experience:
• BS Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience managing projects in an installation services
environment. Commercial construction project management and/or estimating
experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead, influence and manage multiple projects
• Background in Lean Manufacturing within a service business is preferred.
