Software Engineer - Professional Archive Search

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer – Professional Archive Search based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-scale search platform that powers compliance-critical solutions used by enterprise clients. You will help design and build systems that ensure reliable, fast, and accurate search across large volumes of archived data. Accountabilities:

In this role, you will contribute to building and maintaining a scalable, high-performance search and archive platform while ensuring system reliability and continuous improvement.

  • Design, develop, and maintain distributed systems supporting large-scale search and archival capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and site reliability teams to define and deliver technical solutions
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems, incident response, and long-term reliability improvements
  • Implement modern engineering practices including CI/CD pipelines, Agile workflows, and DevOps principles
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and technical debt
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Kubernetes-based environments
  • Use observability tools (e.g., logging, metrics, tracing platforms) to ensure system health and performance
  • Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:

Candidates should bring strong software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems, backend development, and scalable search technologies.

  • Approximately 4+ years of experience in software engineering roles
  • Strong proficiency in Java or C#, with experience in backend and distributed systems development
  • Hands-on experience with search technologies such as Solr, Lucene, or Elasticsearch
  • Experience working in cloud-based or private cloud environments
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for application deployment and management
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development practices
  • Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or AMQ is a plus
  • Familiarity with MS SQL and Linux-based systems (including WSL)
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive mindset
  • Ability to adapt to evolving requirements and work effectively in dynamic environments
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering productivity practices
