Position Title: Overnight Security Guard
Location: Rancho Santa Fe

SUMMARY
Overnight Security guard is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment in which guests can relax and/or conduct business. This position establishes, promotes and maintains the Hotel’s security and property protection. The security guard is available from 5pm to 6:30am five days a week. The security guard actively participates in the day-to-day security operations of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees and property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Executes all tasks assigned by MOD.
- Attends all scheduled training sessions including safety meetings.
- Display warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests, employees, lives the Resort culture
- Adheres to the Resort’s code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards.
- Actively participates line ups and meetings.
- Frequent patrolling of public areas, car parking and heart of house areas to prevent intrusion by unauthorized people or undesirables.
- Understand the operation of all emergency life safety equipment and respond to all emergency situations including accidents that may arise at the resort.
- Monitor security cameras and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
- Defuse guest disturbances and escort individuals from the property if necessary.
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and facilitate interviews with relevant parties.
- Complete required shift reports and maintain confidentiality of all loss prevention documents.
- Participate in and support hotel efforts towards community, sustainability and environmental initiatives.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Customer service experience
- Strong communication skills
- Guard card, CPR/First Aid, TIPS training, Valid US driver's license with clean record
- Ability to use Microsoft Suite and keyboard.
Desirable
High school degree or higher education
Previous Security experience in a luxury resort environment
Law enforcement experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
- Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
- Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.
- Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally.
- Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
- Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
