Job Description
Bauer's is looking for an experienced Driver Safety Trainer to educate and prepare new chauffeurs in the theoretical and regulatory aspects of passenger transportation operation. This role focuses on delivering classroom-based instruction on topics such as traffic laws, safety protocols, and vehicle operation standards. The ideal candidate will be an experienced road instructor, be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong commitment to training chauffeurs who prioritize safety and professionalism with a customer service mindset.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver structured classroom-based training sessions on bus operation, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
- Provide instruction on federal, state, and local laws governing commercial bus operation and passenger safety.
- Teach vehicle maintenance basics, inspection protocols, and reporting procedures.
- Develop, update, and present instructional materials, including presentations, manuals, and handouts.
- Train students on proper documentation, such as logbooks, incident reports, and compliance paperwork.
- Instruct on defensive driving strategies and emergency management scenarios.
- Prepare students for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) written examinations and endorsements (e.g., Passenger (P), School Bus (S)).
- Conduct assessments, quizzes, and exams to monitor understanding and progress.
- Address student questions, providing clarification and additional support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and certification progress.
- Stay current on transportation regulations, safety technologies, and industry best practices.
- Instruct on defensive driving practices, hazard identification, and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct practical, behind-the-wheel training sessions as a back-up trainer when needed.
- Teach proper bus operation techniques, including starting, stopping, turning, reversing, and parking.

- Maintain a professional and supportive training environment, both in the classroom and on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
