This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Construction, NA based in the United States.

This executive leadership role oversees large-scale construction operations across multiple active markets, ensuring successful delivery of complex data center development programs from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout. The role carries full responsibility for capital execution, cost control, and project performance across a geographically distributed portfolio. It requires close coordination with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to ensure alignment on delivery standards and timelines. The Vice President will lead high-performing construction teams and directors while shaping execution strategy across regions. This position plays a critical role in optimizing construction efficiency, enhancing vendor performance, and driving continuous improvement across all projects. It is a highly visible leadership role combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational accountability in a fast-scaling environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee all construction activities across active regions, ensuring consistent execution from pre-construction through commissioning and project closeout.
  • Manage and develop construction directors and project teams, ensuring strong leadership, accountability, and performance across all campuses.
  • Own and control CAPEX budgets, ensuring financial discipline, accurate forecasting, variance analysis, and adherence to governance standards.
  • Drive end-to-end project delivery including planning, procurement, bidding, contractor selection, execution, and turnover to operations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (development, finance, operations, and sales) to align construction execution with business and customer requirements.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, including qualification, performance management, and long-term partnership development.
  • Lead reporting, cost analysis, estimating, and risk assessment to support executive-level decision-making and portfolio optimization.
  • Ensure lessons learned and best practices are embedded into future projects to continuously improve delivery performance and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction, with strong preference for 15–20 years in large-scale infrastructure or data center environments.
  • Proven experience delivering complex, multi-site construction programs from inception through completion.
  • Strong expertise in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management.
  • Deep knowledge of construction cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, distributed teams and drive cross-functional alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of organizational rigor, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50–75%, with potential for increased travel based on business needs.
