Associate Shopper & Category Insights Advisor Amazon (Beauty & Wellbeing & Personal Care)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Shopper & Category Insights Advisor – Amazon (Beauty & Wellbeing & Personal Care) based in United States.

This role focuses on transforming shopper behavior and category performance data into actionable insights that shape eCommerce strategy within one of the fastest-growing retail ecosystems. You will work at the intersection of analytics, consumer understanding, and digital commerce, helping translate Amazon-specific shopper journeys into clear business opportunities. The position requires strong curiosity about how consumers discover and purchase products online, particularly within Beauty & Personal Care categories. You will collaborate closely with senior insights and category strategy leaders to support decision-making and customer-facing discussions. The role combines hands-on data analysis with storytelling, requiring the ability to synthesize multiple data sources into clear, compelling narratives. This is a highly visible opportunity to build deep expertise in Amazon’s retail ecosystem while contributing directly to category growth strategies.

Accountabilities
  • Analyze Amazon shopper behavior, path-to-purchase patterns, and category performance across Beauty & Wellbeing and Personal Care to identify actionable growth insights
  • Leverage Amazon-specific, syndicated, internal, and external data sources to uncover trends, gaps, and commercial opportunities
  • Support the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research projects, including surveys, consumer studies, and ad-hoc analysis
  • Translate business questions into structured research approaches and collaborate with internal teams or external partners to ensure methodological rigor
  • Synthesize insights from POS data, shopper panels, surveys, and qualitative research into cohesive category narratives
  • Monitor competitive dynamics, assortment changes, and innovation trends within Amazon Beauty and Personal Care categories
  • Identify emerging shopper trends and behaviors to inform category strategy and portfolio development
  • Develop clear, insight-driven deliverables such as presentations, summaries, and strategic POVs for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Shopper Marketing, Data & Analytics, Content, and Amazon-focused commercial teams
  • Build a strong understanding of Amazon’s ecosystem, including search, assortment, traffic drivers, and conversion dynamics
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3–6 years of experience in consumer insights, shopper insights, category management, analytics, eCommerce, or related CPG/retail roles
  • Strong experience working with syndicated data sources such as Circana, Numerator, or similar platforms
  • Ability to interpret Amazon or eCommerce performance data using tools such as Stackline, Vendor Central, or internal analytics platforms (preferred or learnable)
  • Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including survey design and consumer research execution
  • Experience synthesizing multiple data sources into clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to connect consumer behavior, cultural trends, and category dynamics into strategic insights
  • Exposure to or strong interest in Amazon and digital commerce ecosystems (search, assortment, traffic, conversion drivers)
  • Experience supporting retailer-facing or category strategy discussions (strong plus)
