Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides social work services to patients and families in the hospital setting under the supervision of the MSW. This position will transition to the MSW job description once the MSW degree is obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Bachelor's Degree required.
-
Experience in a social work field required.
-
Currently enrolled (or is a recent graduate awaiting license/diploma) in a nationally accredited Master of Social Work program.

Strong skills in oral and written communication.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
-
Able to extensively utilize telephone and computer for necessary work and communication.
-
Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
-
Demonstrates adequate physical and emotional stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete the necessary work schedule.
-
Able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the work schedule, with some light lifting and bending.

Able to hear, or adequate hearing with corrections, spoken communications from staff, physicians, patients, and families as well as pages.
-
Demonstrates adequate manual dexterity to prepare written documents.
-
Able to work in a latex-burdened environment.
