Position Summary
The Regional Executive Director (RED) is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial health, compliance, and growth of DOMA's Ohio operations. This role provides strategic leadership to Program Directors and regional leadership teams while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services that support individuals in achieving their goals and living meaningful lives.
The Regional Executive Director serves as a key member of the organization's leadership team and is accountable for achieving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce stability, and financial performance across the region.
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Partner with the President of Disability Services to develop and execute strategic plans that advance DOMA's mission, growth objectives, and operational goals.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, service development, and increased market presence throughout Ohio.
- Develop and implement initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, quality outcomes, and financial performance.
- Promote DOMA within the community and cultivate relationships with county boards, guardians, referral sources, providers, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, competitive market conditions, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide leadership and oversight for all regional operations, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with company standards.
- Oversee residential and community-based services to ensure quality care, staffing stability, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to address performance gaps.
- Lead efforts to reduce vacancies, improve occupancy, and maximize service utilization.
- Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
- Execute short-term and long-term operational initiatives that support organizational objectives.
- Manage regional budgets and financial performance to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Review financial statements, operational reports, and performance metrics to evaluate progress toward objectives.
- Develop corrective action plans when financial or operational targets are not being met.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of company resources and cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and local regulations, including Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) requirements.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of licensing, certification, and accreditation standards affecting service delivery.
- Partner with Quality Assurance, Nursing, and Human Resources teams to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure incidents, investigations, audits, and surveys are managed appropriately and resolved timely.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and person-centered supports.
- Lead, coach, and develop Program Directors and other regional leaders to achieve operational and leadership excellence.
- Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one meetings to provide direction, accountability, and professional development.
- Evaluate leadership performance and hold team members accountable for achieving established goals and expectations.
- Partner with Human Resources to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing team members.
- Build leadership succession plans and identify future leaders within the organization.
- Serve as the final operational authority for employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, and staffing decisions within the region.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals served, families, guardians, county boards, funding agencies, vendors, and community partners.
- Represent DOMA professionally in community meetings, regulatory reviews, and industry events.
- Foster collaboration between operational departments and corporate support teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Model DOMA's mission, values, and commitment to person-centered services.
- Maintain a regular cadence of team meetings, leadership meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions.
- Lead with transparency, accountability, and integrity.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, effective problem-solving skills, and strong decision-making abilities.
- Create a positive workplace culture focused on engagement, development, and results.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, developmental disabilities, human services, behavioral health, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years leading multiple locations, programs, or departments with direct responsibility for financial and operational outcomes.
- Experience managing budgets, financial statements, and operational performance metrics.
- Experience leading and developing managers and supervisory staff.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, licensing, audits, and investigations preferred.
- Experience working with Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) services strongly preferred.
Licensure & Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout Ohio and occasionally to other company locations.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.
- Must maintain eligibility to work in programs regulated by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
