Weekend Caregiver (In-Home Care) – Pocatello, ID

About the Role

Happy to Help Caregiving is seeking reliable, compassionate individuals to join our caregiving team serving clients throughout Pocatello and surrounding communities. We are currently hiring caregivers who are available to work weekend shifts and are passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

As a caregiver, you will provide essential non-medical support that helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. This is meaningful, relationship-driven work where you will build genuine connections while helping clients maintain their dignity and quality of life.

What You'll Do

Depending on the client's needs and individualized care plan, your duties may include:

  • Providing companionship and meaningful engagement through conversation, activities, and emotional support
  • Assisting with personal care needs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene support
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to client preferences and dietary needs
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, tidying common areas, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment
  • Providing medication reminders in accordance with the care plan (no handling or administering medications)
  • Assisting with mobility, repositioning, and safe transfers using walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids
  • Providing transportation assistance for appointments, errands, grocery shopping, and approved outings
  • Providing respite care support for family caregivers
  • Following care instructions, documenting shift activity, and communicating changes in client condition to the office
  • Supporting each client's independence, routines, preferences, and overall well-being

You will help create a safe, respectful, and positive experience for every client by showing up on time, following care plans, maintaining professional boundaries, and treating every home with care and respect.

Qualifications

We're looking for caregivers who are compassionate, dependable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality, person-centered care.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Kind, patient, trustworthy, and respectful demeanor
  • Ability to follow written care plans and verbal instructions accurately
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility support
  • Strong communication skills and professionalism
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Weekend availability required

Preferred:

  • Previous caregiving experience
  • CNA certification
  • Healthcare, home care, or customer service experience

No prior caregiving experience is required. We value compassion, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

  • Location: Pocatello, Chubbuck, and surrounding Southeast Idaho communities
  • Schedule: Weekend shifts available (Saturday and Sunday)
