This role is at the forefront of a new era of AI-powered storytelling, where short-form vertical drama meets cutting-edge generative technology. You will lead the creative and technical execution of serialized mini-dramas designed for massive global audiences across mobile-first platforms. Working within a fast-scaling AI ecosystem, you will own the full lifecycle of episodic content — from concept and scripting to editing and final delivery. This is a highly creative yet execution-driven position, blending traditional narrative craft with next-generation AI production tools. You will collaborate with AI specialists, engineers, and creative teams to push the boundaries of storytelling at scale. The environment is fast, experimental, and built for creators who thrive on ownership, iteration, and high-impact output.
- Own and direct 1–2 vertical mini-series simultaneously, typically consisting of 10–15 short episodes per series plus trailers, ensuring narrative cohesion and audience engagement.
- Develop scripts and story structures with strong hooks, pacing, and cliffhangers tailored for high-retention short-form viewing.
- Direct, edit, and finalize episodes end-to-end, maintaining full creative control over storytelling quality and execution.
- Utilize and collaborate with AI production tools and internal copilots for character consistency, casting, and content generation workflows.
- Work closely with AI content creators, technical teams, and other directors to iterate on creative output and improve production efficiency.
- Experiment with AI-driven video generation tools and workflows, continuously improving speed, quality, and scalability of production.
- Ensure each series meets performance, engagement, and storytelling benchmarks across distribution platforms.
- 4+ years of experience directing, showrunning, or producing short-form narrative video or serialized digital content.
- Strong storytelling expertise with proven ability to craft engaging hooks, episodic tension, and fast-paced narrative arcs.
- Hands-on experience in video editing and end-to-end content production.
- Familiarity with vertical video formats and digital-first storytelling platforms.
- Exposure to AI video or creative tools (e.g., Runway, Sora, Kling, Veo, Pika, Seedance, or similar), with willingness to rapidly upskill.
- Strong creative intuition combined with a structured, execution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
- Highly autonomous, fast-moving, and comfortable working in an experimental, high-velocity environment.
- Strong ownership mentality with a bias toward action, iteration, and results.
- Open-minded, feedback-driven, and eager to continuously learn and adapt.
- Fully remote work model (work from anywhere).
- B2B contract flexibility with long-term collaboration focus.
- 20 working days of paid time off annually.
- Annual in-person team gathering for collaboration and networking.
- Monthly health & wellness support, including insurance allowance and access to psychological and lifestyle coaching via OpenUp (also available for up to three family members).
- Co-working space reimbursement (up to twice per month).
- Learning and development budget for courses, certifications, books, and conferences.
- Company-provided laptop and home office equipment support (including monitor budget).
- Full access to premium AI tools and creative platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Hugging Face).
