Job Description

Product Engineer (SDK, CLI & Interfaces)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Engineer (SDK, CLI & Interfaces) based in Germany.

In this role, you will help shape how developers interact with a modern data platform, building the core tools and interfaces that power their daily workflows. You will work across SDKs, CLI tooling, and product surfaces that define the end-to-end developer experience, with a strong focus on usability, performance, and clarity. This is a highly cross-functional position where engineering, product thinking, and UX intersect. You will contribute to both mature features and emerging AI-driven capabilities, influencing how users explore, query, and build with real-time data. The environment is fast-paced, highly autonomous, and deeply product-oriented, with continuous shipping and iteration at its core. You will be encouraged to take ownership of features from concept to production, actively shaping what gets built and why. This role is ideal for a product-minded engineer who enjoys working close to users and pushing the boundaries of developer experience.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain developer-facing tools including SDKs, CLI interfaces, and core product workflows.
  • Improve the end-to-end developer experience across data exploration, querying, and local development environments.
  • Contribute to and evolve key product areas such as interactive explorations, query playgrounds, and AI-assisted data workflows.
  • Work across the stack using TypeScript, Python, and SQL to deliver performant and scalable product features.
  • Collaborate closely with design to shape intuitive, high-quality user experiences beyond pure implementation work.
  • Take ownership of features from ideation through production, including technical design, development, and iteration based on user feedback.
  • Identify and build new product capabilities, particularly in emerging AI-driven developer workflows and data interaction models.
  • Continuously improve usability, speed, and clarity across developer tools and interfaces.
  • Participate in technical decision-making and contribute to defining product direction and priorities.
  • Engage directly with user feedback and production usage to refine and enhance features.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Product Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role building developer-facing products.
  • Strong experience building SDKs, CLIs, or APIs used by technical users.
  • Comfortable working across frontend and backend systems with a strong product and UX mindset.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript (React is a plus), Python, and working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience working with databases or data-heavy systems is highly valued.
  • Strong product sense with the ability to make decisions independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to move quickly, prioritize effectively, and ship iteratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and workflows, using them to accelerate development and exploration.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with design and engineering teams.
  • Passion for improving developer experience and building tools that other engineers love to use.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range with equity (stock options) participation.
  • 22 days of annual leave plus public holidays and your birthday off.
  • Flexible remote-first working environment.
  • Home office setup budget of up to €2,800.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI-powered developer tooling and real-time data systems.
  • High autonomy with strong ownership over product decisions and direction.
  • Fast-paced environment with continuous shipping and iterative development culture.
  • Opportunity to influence core product strategy and developer experience at scale.
