Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Location- New Port Richey, FL
General Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing quality patient care in a team-based environment while assisting providers with all aspects of patient care delivery. Working under the direct supervision of a clinician, the CNA prepares patients for visits, supports clinical workflows, and partners with providers and office support staff to deliver a best-in-class patient experience.
This position plays an important role in supporting Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, and Women’s Health services while promoting Premier Community HealthCare’s mission, values, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Facilitate patient visits and ensure patients are assisted in a timely manner while maintaining high patient satisfaction
• Perform rooming duties, including obtaining medical history, recording patient information, and taking vital signs and measurements
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
• Clean and sterilize reusable instruments according to established procedures
• Assist with laboratory functions, including collecting blood, tissue, and other specimens; logging specimens; and preparing them for testing
• Perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, Spot Vision screenings, OAE testing, and other assigned duties
• Complete clerical tasks including obtaining medical records, specialist reports, authorizations, forms, and requisitions
• Follow all Premier policies, procedures, and clinical standards
• Collaborate with providers, Clinical Leads, Nursing Leadership, Risk & Compliance, and Training teams as needed
• Perform only those duties for which educational preparation and competency have been established
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times
• Communicate workflow concerns that may impact patient flow or operations
• Participate in community outreach initiatives and support Premier’s mission
• Contribute to departmental goals and Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance (QI/QA) initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• One (1) year of experience in a medical clinic setting preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain Epic certification and annual compliance training
• Ability to obtain and maintain annual clinical skills competencies
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and 30–50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to travel between Premier health centers to provide coverage and support
• Direct exposure to computer screens
• Possible exposure to contagious or infectious diseases
Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
