JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible of supporting projects and daily activities on product engineering test.

Essential Functions:

• Supports Test Engineer(s) with test, studies or activities to deliver results on time to departments such as incoming inspection, quality and manufacture.
• Supports Test Engineers or Leaders to execute test or activities related to IPA, PPAP, MCR, Incoming Inspection and R&D.
• Supports the Manufacturing area with projects or activities to improve manufacturing processes and/or to launch new assembly lines or products.
• Updates testing documents under the Product Engineering Leader or Engineer guidance.
• Supports continuous improvement and KPS activities.
• Proposes and/or executes engineering changes on assembly lines under the Test Engineer or Leader guidance/coaching.
• Supports Activities related to Product Safety and VDA Audits under the Test Engineer or Leader guidance/coaching.
• Supports the Testing Area to introduce new fixtures or tools.
• Supports Testing area to complete TR’s by executing tests and/or documents updates.
• The employee has the authority to stop the production line, when he/she notices that the product has a quality problem or defect.
• Support PSA Activities and procedures with team members.
• Perform all those activities that by the nature of the position are required.

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Typically reports to the Product engineering supervisor.

• Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees.
• This position can only represent product engineering in a power base(s) if the Engineer or leader is absent (Vacations, special assignments, projects, customer issues, etc.)

Knowledge:

• CAD software usage.
• Programing (Labview, Mathlab, PLC, etc)
• Data acqusition systems
• Use of manual tools (Wrenches, screw drivers, torque meters, etc)
• Basic knowledge about manufacturing documents( PFMEA, Process Flow, Work Instructions)
• Data Analysis and Problem solving.
• Mistake proofing devices.
• Basic Excel and Power Point.

Experience:

• Basic Tooling and fixturing design experience required
• Basic experience on manufacturing enviroments.
• Demonstrated lean manufacturing implementation a plus
• Skilled in Microsoft Office and CAD software.

Skills:

• Hands on.
• Coachable and open to learn.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Time management.

• Organized.
• Able to analyse basic data and create presentations to communicate issues or solutions.

Education/Certifications:

• BS degree in Engineering (ME, MET, EE, EET) preferred.
• Preferent Bilingual; English and Spanish
