Position Summary:

Tigua Facility Services (TFS), part of Tigua Inc., supports federal facilities, operations, maintenance, logistics, and mission-support requirements. Tigua Inc. is owned by the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo (Ysleta Tribe). This anticipated position will support Air Force Civil Engineer Center operations, facilities, test ranges, laboratories, and research, development, test, and evaluation activities at Tyndall Air Force Base.

Perform senior-level site maintenance, grounds, equipment operation, preventive maintenance, facilities repair, logistics support, and severe-weather response while remaining fully capable of the broad Allied Trades requirements. This is not a grounds-only position; the technician must support the complete Allied Trades workload.

This role supports a potential contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate tractors, dump trucks, sweepers, riding mowers, specialized mowing equipment, and towed or attached equipment for material transport, digging, loading, spraying, clearing, mowing, and site preparation.
  • Maintain operational ranges, test areas, facilities, roadsides, grounds, and approximately 50 acres of mowing within the larger AFCEC site, consistent with Government standards.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, service, lubricate, adjust, and document appliances, tools, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Support carpentry, plumbing, painting, concrete/masonry, roofing, facility renovation, and construction of test articles and safety items.
  • Move equipment and materials, requisition or pick up approved materials, and support shops, meetings, visiting teams, and project events.
  • Support hurricane preparation, facility securing, debris cleanup, storm recovery, and short-notice emergency tasks.
  • Use work orders, work-unit numbers, technical instructions, drawings, inspection records, and maintenance documentation to plan and record work.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas, tools, equipment, and assigned property; comply with hazardous-material, waste, environmental, safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Assist other trades and work centers when additional manpower is required to complete work orders.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of related Allied Trades/facilities experience.
  • Broad working knowledge of carpentry, roofing, plumbing, painting, concrete/masonry, appliance/equipment repair, facilities maintenance, and related functions.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, technical manuals, codes, and written work instructions.
  • Demonstrated skill with trade mathematics, measuring devices, hand tools, portable power tools, and applicable test equipment.
  • Knowledge of jobsite safety, PPE, environmental controls, and hazardous-material/waste requirements.
  • Ability to satisfy the background investigation and installation-access requirements established by the final contract.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial driver’s license or documented qualification on tractors, dump trucks, sweepers, heavy mowers, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Prior Air Force, DoD, range, airfield, coastal-facility, grounds, hurricane-recovery, or federal facilities experience.
  • OSHA, equipment-operator, pesticide/applicator, chainsaw, lift, or comparable safety qualifications, as applicable to assigned work.

Contract Requirements

  • Ability to work onsite at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, and satisfy installation access requirements.
  • Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate Government-owned vehicles when authorized.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Air Force, DoD, federal, state, local, safety, environmental, information-security, and facility requirements.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday within the anticipated 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Central Time operating window, with maximum staffing during core hours, currently 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Availability for occasional flexible schedules, approved travel/temporary duty, emergency response, severe-weather preparation or recovery, and mission-essential crisis support.
  • Ability to use Government and company work-order, database, reporting, document-control, and communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other trades, logistics, laboratory, safety, fabrication, Government, and subcontractor personnel.

Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials consistent with assigned work and approved lifting practices.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in heat, humidity, rain, wind, noise, dust, dirt, grease, uneven terrain, and active maintenance/test environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respond to short-notice site conditions safely.
