Translational Research Account Manager QLD/WA

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Translational Research Account Manager QLD/WA based in Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven life sciences professional to support innovation in biotechnology, diagnostics, and translational research.
You will manage strategic customer relationships, helping organisations advance scientific breakthroughs through tailored solutions and expert guidance.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and develop strategic customer relationships across assigned Discovery and Genomic Medicine accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring overall customer success.
  • Drive business growth by identifying opportunities, expanding market presence, increasing sales, and achieving revenue targets through structured account strategies.
  • Develop and execute account plans in collaboration with internal teams, aligning customer needs with available solutions and long-term business objectives.
  • Manage the full commercial sales cycle, including prospecting, forecasting, proposals, quotations, customer visits, contract negotiations, and tender responses.
  • Build strong knowledge of customer workflows, market trends, competitive offerings, and industry challenges to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists and cross-functional teams to design solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Promote a broad portfolio of technologies and capabilities while supporting strategic initiatives that increase customer value and business impact.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, by building trusted relationships and delivering compelling business solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of teamwork, innovation, and customer-focused excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent technical knowledge gained through relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in account management, sales, product management, or strategic business development within biotechnology, life sciences, diagnostics, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, growing accounts, winning new business, and increasing market share through strategic approaches.
  • Strong understanding of life sciences customers, research workflows, and commercial applications within translational research environments.
  • Ability to quickly understand customer challenges and translate technical solutions into meaningful business value.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience building relationships and influencing decision-makers at all levels, including executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams across different locations and functions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial mindset combined with technical curiosity and the ability to learn complex scientific concepts.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing priorities across a defined territory.
  • Experience in the life sciences industry with an established professional network is highly valued.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including occasional interstate travel, with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
