Job Description

Title: Controller (CTRL)

Job Category: Management

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Controller (CTRL) is primarily responsible for the financial accounting and reporting, legal compliance, and monitoring of all key controls within the Company’s portfolio of business activities. The CTRL supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Company (ATI), in support of a culture that stresses quality work and efficiencies; ensuring that quality controls and check points in place are met; and, through direct oversight of the Finance Division staff, provides coaching towards excellence in performance. The CTRL will carry out all duties, tasks, and assignments in a confidential, competent, and professional manner within established deadlines, in compliance with all legal and Company requirements. CTRL has direct supervision responsibilities over Finance Division staff based on the Company’s organizational chart.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Finance or Business is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of direct experience in financial work and/or management.
  • Three (3) years of experience with direct supervision of other staff.
  • A demonstrated progression of moving into positions of increasing responsibility and oversight.
  • High-level Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office platforms.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work towards fulfilling Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Participates in ensuring that assigned Company Key Performance Indicators are being met.
  • Provides input into the development of the Company’s Strategic Planning.
  • Participates in Company’s Professional Development Plan.
  • Mentor, Coach, Support, and Inspire staff in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Companies.
  • Lead and motivate staff to achieve organizational objectives and goals.
  • Monitors, supports, and provides direct supervision of Finance Division Staff, to ensure success with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Supports and active participation in the Companies Project Management methods, processes, and infrastructure.
  • Recommends and participates in the development of systems and processes to improve the Finance Division and key organizational processes.
  • Assesses and provides targeted education and training for the Finance Division and other associated staff.
  • Oversight and performance of various accounting functions and internal audits as directed by the CFO.
  • Active involvement in supporting legal compliance, including but not limited to contract integrity, insurance, state and federal tax compliance maintenance and reporting.
  • Assists with Finance Division and Organizational Planning efforts.
  • Maintains accurate financial dashboards and other reporting mechanisms as directed by CFO, providing checks and balances to key systems and processes.
  • Attends internal and external trainings to supplement needed capabilities for the Company.
  • Completes all duties and assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Models the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values during all staff and customer interactions.
  • Attends and productively contributes to assigned meetings.
  • Attends and completes all assigned organizational education and training sessions, in a timely manner.
  • Prioritizes urgent and emergent issues appropriately and guides staff appropriately.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in proper working order.
  • Communicates effectively and productively with all levels of the Company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Working schedule may vary due to the nature of the business needs.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and hear; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Use of computer, keyboard, and monitor.
  • Work area may be crowded.
  • Work schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.
  • Duties may involve sitting for long periods of time.
  • Duties may involve traveling to and from areas within county(s) served by the Company.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
