Job Description
Sellers & Associates is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Scrum Master to join our team. This full-time position will work with our team of software developers, designers, and strategists, modernizing critical government systems and building internal company tools. While this position is primarily remote, candidates must be able to attend in-person customer meetings at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Headquarters in Washington, D.C., as required. As Scrum Master, you will lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and backlog refinement. Beyond this, you will play a strategic role in project planning, process improvement, and hands-on technical oversight.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze project requirements, define priorities, and translate user needs into actionable technical goals and system requirements.
- Plan and manage project roadmaps, release schedules, and dependencies across multiple development efforts.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and project managers to deliver software solutions.
- Create and maintain Jira epics, user stories, bugs, technical tasks, acceptance criteria, and testing requirements based on stakeholder discussions.
- Independently convert a meeting into Jira tickets, acceptance criteria, decisions, and follow-up actions
- Write and maintain technical documentation including requirements, software specifications, user guides, test plans, and deployment instructions.
- Optimize internal processes and strengthen relationships between cross-functional teams.
- Proactively identify and resolve blockers by engaging the right stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and ensure transparency, alignment, and timely decision making.
- Support testing and validation efforts for Power Platform and Microsoft 365-based applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance required.
- 2+ years of experience in Agile project management and performing Scrum Master duties, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- 2+ years of experience with JIRA or similar tools.
- Experience supporting multiple teams, providing tasking, and adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Kanban, or Lean-Agile processes and methodologies, and their application to process improvement.
- Ability to facilitate and coach cross-functional teams in a virtual or hybrid environment.
- Ability to gather user requirements, define priorities, and translate needs into goals.
- Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, and DevOps workflows, including PR review and branch management.
- Attention to detail, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and dedication to needs of team members and customers.
- Experience working within DoD IT environments, including IL4/IL5/IL6 systems or compliance with DoD STIGs and security controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of total, relevant professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on a software development team, working within the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience writing technical specifications, requirements documents, user guides, test plans, and deployment instructions.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with wireframing tools such as Figma or Adobe XD and graphical design tools such as Photoshop and InDesign.
- Previous experience working on government contracts or secure software environments.
- Familiarity with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and/or U.S. Navy.
- Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
- One or more industry-standard IT security certifications such as CompTIA.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework and/or Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power BI, and Power Automate, with experience supporting requirements, testing, or delivery of Power Platform solutions.
