Job Description
Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Specialist. This part-time position works Monday through Friday, starting at 6:30 a.m., for approximately 4–5 hours per day. Occasional additional hours may be required based on agency needs; however, the position will not exceed 29 hours per week. The Custodial Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks & assisting in maintenance tasks to ensure our facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming.
Responsibilities:
- Perform custodial cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Clean and restock restrooms, common areas, and offices.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the buildings, including entrances and hallways.
- Maintain and organize cleaning supplies and supply closets.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with minor maintenance and facility upkeep tasks, including lawn care, snow removal, and other maintenance duties as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including bending, moving/lifting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliable transportation for travel between multiple locations
