This role sits at the core of building secure, scalable infrastructure for enterprise-grade digital asset custody systems. You will contribute to the design and development of end-to-end platforms that power APIs, SDKs, and backend services supporting high-value financial operations. Working in a highly technical and security-sensitive environment, you will help shape systems that must meet rigorous standards for performance, resilience, and cryptographic security. The role spans backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture, requiring close collaboration with product, frontend, and hardware teams. You will be part of a mission-driven engineering culture focused on Bitcoin infrastructure and next-generation financial systems. This is a hands-on role where deep technical ownership, curiosity, and precision directly influence the reliability of mission-critical custody solutions.
You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, high-performance backend systems that support enterprise custody solutions and associated APIs.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end systems powering APIs and SDKs for enterprise custody services
- Build and manage full-stack backend infrastructure, from database design to cloud deployment and system architecture
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and security to support high-availability financial applications
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, product managers, and hardware engineers to deliver integrated solutions
- Implement engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and rigorous code review processes
- Research and integrate emerging technologies to improve system efficiency, scalability, and cryptographic security
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure system stability in fast-moving, mission-critical environments
- Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and support mentorship of junior engineers within the team
The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering expertise, experience with distributed systems, and a deep understanding of security-first development practices.
- 5+ years of experience in full-stack or backend software engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as C++, Python, Rust, or Node.js
- Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful APIs and SDKs at scale
- Solid experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of database systems, including SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and security best practices such as OAuth, JWT, encryption, and access control
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in complex environments
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and expertise
- Fully remote work environment within the United States
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge Bitcoin and digital asset infrastructure
- High-impact engineering role with strong ownership over mission-critical systems
- Collaborative, research-driven engineering culture focused on innovation and security
- Exposure to modern cloud, cryptographic, and distributed system technologies
- Opportunities for mentorship, learning, and technical growth within a senior engineering team
