Operations Team Leader in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Wales at Zip World

We’re looking for a Team Leader to join us at Zip World Llechwedd – someone who loves working with people, enjoys being in the middle of the action and has the confidence to step up, make decisions and help a busy site perform at its best.

This isn’t a desk-based management role. You’ll be visible, involved and working alongside the leadership and wider team.

You’ll have the freedom to use your judgement, but you’ll also be part of an experienced leadership team, working closely with the Deputy/General Manager.

And while delivering an unforgettable experience for our customers is a huge part of the role, there’s a commercial side too. You’ll develop a real understanding of what makes a successful visitor attraction tick. From the people and performance to revenue, labour, safety and operational standards.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the site.

• Leading staff inductions and training.

• Taking responsibility for duty management and making confident decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Leading, motivating and coaching team members to deliver their best.

• Supporting rotas, training, onboarding and team development.

• Championing outstanding customer service and resolving issues positively and professionally.

• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and operational compliance.

• Monitoring and maintaining excellent customer service standards.

• Identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience and how we operate.

What we’re looking for?

You don’t necessarily need to come from the adventure industry.You might currently be leading a team in hospitality, tourism, leisure, retail, attractions or another fast-paced customer environment and be ready for something different.

What matters most is how you lead.

We’re looking for someone who can bring energy to a team, communicate well with different people and stay calm when things don’t quite go to plan.

Someone who notices what needs doing and gets involved rather than waiting to be asked.You’ll be comfortable making decisions, giving people direction and helping others develop, while never losing sight of the customer experience.
