About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled techno-functional Manager - Financial Systems to help
lead the company’s transition from legacy Sage infrastructure to NetSuite. This role will
serve as a key bridge between Finance, Accounting, Operations, IT, department leaders,
and the external NetSuite implementation partner. The immediate priority is to facilitate the NetSuite design and implementation process, including current-state process mapping, future-state design, requirements
documentation, data readiness, testing, cutover planning, and implementation governance. This individual will help ensure that the NetSuite design supports accurate financial reporting, improved internal controls, reduced manual processes, scalable integrations, and a more efficient month-end close. Following implementation, this role will help own the ongoing financial systems roadmap, including reporting, controls, system optimization, integrations, data governance, and
continuous improvement.
What you'll do
1. ERP Modernization & Migration Leadership
• Partner with executive stakeholders, accounting teams, and third-party system
integrators to execute a seamless end-to-end migration from Sage to NetSuite.
• Lead technical data migration workstreams: define extraction strategies from legacy
databases, manage data cleansing protocols, map configurations, and conduct
rigorous balance validation processes.
• Partner with the NetSuite implementation provider and internal business owners to
review, validate, and document system design decisions across key NetSuite
modules, including GL, AP, AR, inventory, purchasing, fixed assets, reporting, and
related workflows. Establish robust Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
governance for the implementation lifecycle, setting strict technical quality gates
and managing testing environments (sandboxes) for automated and user
acceptance testing (UAT).
• Coordinate UAT planning, test scripts, defect tracking, user sign-offs, training materials,
SOPs, cutover checklists, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
• Lead and facilitate current-state and future-state process mapping across Finance,
Accounting, Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Order Management, and
Reporting. Work with department leaders and the implementation partner to align
business processes with NetSuite leading practices, reduce manual workarounds, and
document agreed future-state processes.
• Support the NetSuite Steering Committee by preparing status updates, milestone
tracking, issue/risk logs, decision logs, scope-change requests, open item tracking, and
executive-level reporting. Ensure key design decisions and unresolved issues are
escalated timely.
2. Ongoing Financial Engineering & Integrations
• Own, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and integrations connecting NetSuite to
peripheral enterprise software (e.g., billing gateways, CRM platforms, procurement
engines, payroll services, and expense management systems).
• Leverage iPaaS middleware platforms (such as Celigo, Workato, or MuleSoft) along
with native APIs to eliminate operational silos and realize automated order-to-cash
and procure-to-pay processes.
• Oversee the administration and optimization of connected business applications,
ensuring downstream data transformations map cleanly to the general ledger.
3. Advanced Reporting, BI & Analytics
• Design, develop, and maintain complex NetSuite reporting structures, including
customized Saved Searches, Financial Reports, KPIs, and SuiteAnalytics
workbooks.
• Collaborate with Finance and FP&A teams to architect data extracts and semantic
layers that feed corporate BI dashboards, driving reliable real-time forecasting and
month-end close analytics.
• Enforce a unified data dictionary and strict financial data lineage rules to ensure
absolute reporting consistency across all management levels.
4. System Governance, Security & Compliance
• Enforce rigorous security models, role-based access controls (RBAC), and explicit
separation of duties (SoD) permissions matrices within the financial application
stack.
• Establish system change-management controls and auditable change logs to
guarantee compliance with SOC 2 or general corporate internal controls.
• Manage the technical testing, script review, and rollback contingency planning
required for NetSuite’s twice-yearly major application upgrades, preventing
disruptions to business continuity.
Qualifications
Professional Experience
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience managing corporate financial systems or
enterprise resource planning (ERP) environments within an IT or specialized finance
organization.
• Proven Hands-on ERP Migration Experience: Direct history of leading or playing a
principal technical role in a complex ERP upgrade or platform migration (direct
migration from Sage to NetSuite is highly desired).
• Deep functional understanding of foundational accounting concepts, including
multi-entity structure, multi-currency consolidation, parent-subsidiary
relationships, revenue recognition compliance, and corporate month-end close
mechanics.
Technical Skill Set
• Expert-level technical proficiency in NetSuite ERP system configuration, advanced
workflow creation, custom record creation, and SuiteCloud toolsets.
• Demonstrated mastery of middleware integration platforms(e.g., Celigo, Workato,
Boomi) and standard API web services (REST/SOAP).
• Advanced command of data extraction and manipulation methods, including
intermediate-to-advanced SQL query development, schema mapping, and
relational database logic.
• Familiarity with NetSuite automation tools (SuiteScript, JavaScript development
concepts) is a distinct advantage for overseeing custom code quality gates.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and BI toolsets (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau,
Qlik Sense) or data intelligence platforms (e.g. Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake).
Education & Certifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting,
or an equivalent techno-functional field.
• NetSuite Certified Administrator, NetSuite Certified Financial User, or NetSuite ERP
