What the job is:
CPI is looking for someone to work closely with the Sales Agronomist and Custom Applicators to ensure equipment is dispatched to customers in a timely and efficient manner providing clear directions and maps to our Custom Applicators across multiple locations. This person will ensure compliance is met with all CPI policies, regulations, procedures and practices including all local, state and federal laws. CPI is a safety minded company thus such policies must be followed. The Dispatcher Assistant will support the Agronomy and Transportation dispatching by organizing daily work orders, application schedules and fertilizer deliveries. This person will communicate with agronomists, applicators, operational personnel and customers regarding scheduling updates and operational changes. In addition, the Dispatcher Assistant will monitor daily progress of dispatched work and communicate delays, issues or changes when necessary and support inventory tracking and coordination of products needed for agronomy operations. This person will help to identify opportunities to improve efficiency in daily dispatch and logistics activities as well as provide backup coverage for dispatch functions during absences, peak seasons or period of increased workloads.
- High School Diploma, GED or related experience and/or training.
- A valid Driver’s License is required.
- A Class A CDL with endorsements and applicator’s license that meets the minimum compliance requirements of the regulatory state is preferred.
- Application, tender experience and chemical knowledge is preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Works well independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and being at a computer.
- Must have the ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions, around moving parts, airborne particles and chemicals and have the physical strength, balance and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas with the ability to lift, push or pull up to 60-pounds at times.
- Ability to learn and develop proficient dispatch procedures, routing and agronomy operational workflows while maintaining accurate records within company software systems.
