Setting the Stage
Accreditation, quality improvement, and patient support programs are important components of maintaining a strong cancer program and supporting the needs of the patients and communities we serve. The Manager at the Steeplechase Cancer Center will collaborate with the AVP and Program Manager to support accreditation activities, quality initiatives, and patient support programs for the Cancer Center.
A key focus of this position will be supporting Steeplechase Cancer Center’s accreditation requirements, including its upcoming May 2027 accreditation renewal, while maintaining Cancer Center policies and procedures and assisting with programmatic and patient support needs.
A Typical Day
As the Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Serving as an accreditation specialist and providing guidance on the regulatory requirements of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) and Commission on Cancer (CoC)
- Mentoring the new manager on NAPBC and CoC regulatory requirements as Steeplechase Cancer Center prepares for its May 2027 accreditation renewal
- Supporting accreditation-related quarterly meetings, including the preparation and coordination of meeting agendas, minutes, and communications with involved departments
- Assisting with quality improvement projects related to Cancer Center initiatives
- Completing various templates and supporting documentation required for upcoming accreditations
- Maintaining Steeplechase Cancer Center policies and procedures
- Assisting the new Practice Manager with the management of current patient support services and the establishment of new support services for Steeplechase Cancer Center patients
- Identifying and securing facilitators for patient support programs
- Assisting with the procurement of business agreements and establishment of new vendors
- Coordinating and scheduling classes associated with patient support programs
- Preparing flyers and other materials needed to support program activities
- Coordinating payment for services associated with support programs
- Supporting the ongoing maintenance of established patient programs
- Assisting with additional programmatic needs of the Cancer Center related to accreditation, quality initiatives, and patient support programs

- You have experience working within a medical office or clinical environment and understand the importance of organization, documentation, and coordination
- You are comfortable supporting accreditation and regulatory activities, including detailed documentation and ongoing preparation
- You can effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt as program needs change
- You are highly organized and comfortable coordinating meetings, documentation, communications, and program activities
- You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- You are comfortable collaborating with leadership and multiple departments to keep projects and accreditation activities moving forward
- You enjoy supporting quality improvement initiatives and helping maintain programs that directly support cancer patients
- You are comfortable working independently on detailed projects while collaborating with others when needed
To Be Considered
Candidates must have:
- A minimum of five years of experience in a medical office or clinic setting
- Strong computer skills
- The ability to adapt to a changing environment and manage multiple priorities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred but not required
