Job Description
American Bible Society is a Christian nonprofit whose mission is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format they can understand and afford, so that all people may experience its life-changing message. Rooted in the vision of Habakkuk 2:14—"that the earth would be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea"—we develop Scripture-centered digital tools to support Bible translation, engagement, and distribution worldwide.
JOB PURPOSE:
As a Product Manager in the ABS Product Studio, you’ll partner directly with one or more Ministry Leaders to turn complex ministry needs into digital experiences that deepen Bible access, engagement, and advocacy. You are comfortable as a strategist, project manager, designer, and technologist, leading through a product lifecycle that is evidence-driven and human-centered. You’re fluent with AI for research, prototyping, and ideation, and you know when to slow down for the human discernment ministry work demands.

- Product Strategy
- Own the product vision and roadmap for one product, in partnership with a ministry leader, translating complex ministry needs into clear, prioritized outcomes.
- Define strategy, priorities, schedule, resource allocation, and budget, and translate them into a prioritized backlog with a release plan.
- Define missional needs and measurable outcomes (objectives and key results), ensuring every effort advances the product's mission and delivers meaningful impact.
- Continuously monitor market trends and emerging technologies to inform product strategy.
- Product Development
- Apply human-centered design and design-thinking principles, facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams to align user needs with ministry and business goals.
- Conduct research and interview ministry stakeholders and end users to identify challenges, opportunities, and unmet needs.
- Analyze and synthesize user feedback, behaviors, and motivations into actionable recommendations that shape product decisions and validate strategy.
- Create wireframes or prototypes to visualize and test UX solutions to real user problems.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to plan, build, and deliver high-quality, fully tested product enhancements that meet business goals and user expectations.
- Write and manage the flow of epics and user stories that guide development.
- Facilitate key agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement) and remove obstacles so the team can execute efficiently.
- Ensure ABS team and vendor capacity align with product goals and budget.
- Product Operations
- Ensure execution aligns with strategic priorities and key performance indicators.
- Establish structures to monitor product analytics and usage data, ensuring that performance insights are regularly reviewed and accessible to ministry leaders.
- Monitor vendor performance and SLAs, ensuring that contracts, renewals, and deliverables remain on track.
- Stakeholder Communication & Impact
- Communicate proactively with ministry stakeholders, senior leadership, partners, and donors about product status, risks, trade-offs, and opportunities.
- Support proposal, fundraising, and business-development efforts through data dashboards, impact reports, product narratives, and data-driven storytelling.
- Synthesize annual and quarterly OKRs and report progress against KPIs to senior leadership.
- Evaluate post-launch outcomes and impact, presenting successes, challenges, and recommended solutions, and executing leadership direction with accountability.
- Partner with Marketing to express brand identity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years leading complex digital products end-to-end.
- Technical Skills:
- A proven track record of taking products from concept through launch, with measurable outcomes.
- Deep fluency in user research, design thinking, and lean/agile delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort presenting to senior executives.
- Experience writing and managing user stories, roadmaps, and OKRs.
- Comfort working closely with designers and engineers, including providing feedback on UX and technical trade-offs.
- Working knowledge of analytics and experimentation.
- Familiarity with modern product tools (e.g., Monday.com, Jira/Confluence, Figma, Mixpanel/GA, Notion).
Preferred, not required:
• Experience working with AI/agentic product workflows.
• Background with non-profit, ministry, or mission-driven organizations.

Office Location: RemoteCore Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with at least 6 hours overlap with Eastern time
Travel Required: Some domestic and international travel is required (estimating 2-8 trips per year). Additional Information:
