SUMMARY: This position oversees inventory and coordinates shipping procedures along with ensuring that all company products are moved from the lines/loading docks to stage/storage area in a safe and timely manner. In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required.
Employee will be assigned to a 12 hour rotating shift which includes weekends and potential holiday work, 7AM-7PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Coordinate movement of material from the storage areas in the warehouse to the point of sale.
- Monitor and assist loading and unloading of raw materials and finished product.
- Prepare products for shipping purposes.
- Manage documentation associated with shipping processes.
- Manage product inventory and adjust any entries that may need to be regulated.
- Document all actions by handling logs and records and managing information on forms.
- Conduct physical inventories to determine losses and identify stocks for shipment.
- Purchase equipment and supplies to facilitate warehouse functions.
- Compile work orders and ensure appropriate compliance.
- Prepare special orders for products not in stock.
- Evaluate material performance to ensure durability and economy.
- Direct the work of warehouse personnel and oversee all associated activities.
- Evaluate hourly employee performance and manage employee appraisals.
- Assume warehouse operations responsibility in the absence of the warehouse team lead.
- Assist in developing policies and procedures to direct the operations of the warehouse.
- Investigate and report warehouse operational discrepancies.
- Retrieve outgoing freight on shipping docks and ensure warehouse maintenance.
- Keep track of the company’s vehicle fleet and ensure that regular maintenance is carried out.
- Take company vehicles to perform deliveries in the event of work overload.
- Oversee safe operation and maintenance of forklifts and other equipment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise warehouse employees and used as a backup to operations team leader.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and organization skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to conditions that are typical to a fast- paced manufacturing environment, including: moving equipment and machinery, dusty, hot/humid, and cold conditions; employee must be willing to work in all weather conditions, at heights, and in the presence of airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment usually requires the use of hearing protection. Work involves exposure to common wheat allergens.
