Opportunities available in the heart of Dallas
We are seeking a Lab Technician/MA with a passion for service excellence to join our Family Medicine Clinic in the Mesquite area. This position performs specimen collection, CLIA-waived laboratory testing, patient intake, clinical procedures, and administrative support while ensuring compliance along the lines of organizational standards. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the Lab Tech/MA contributes to efficient clinic operations and exceptional patient care for diverse and underserved populations.
Location: Mesquite, Tx (4550 Gus Thomasson Rd, Ste. 40, Mesquite, TX 75150)
Here's a sneak peek at what you'll do:
- Perform patient intake by obtaining vital signs, height, weight, medical history, allergies, medications, and chief complaints.
- Collect laboratory specimens through venipuncture, capillary blood draws, urine, throat, and other specimen collection methods following established laboratory protocols.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and injections as delegated andpermittedby state regulations and organizational policies
- Eliminatebiological waste properly and safely.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, process prior authorizations, andassistwith patient follow-up as directed.
- Educate patientsregardingspecimen collection, laboratory testing, medications, preventive care, and follow-up instructions under provider direction.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare team members to support coordinated patient care.

What you need to succeed
To be a productive member of our team, you will have a pleasant and professional demeanor, be a self-starter, the ability to work independently, strong communication skills, and the ability to preserve confidentiality. You will also have the following:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required
- Two (2) years’Phlebotomy experience in a patient care environment
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency isrequired
- Experience in community health centers and/or non-profits is preferred.
- Experience serving multicultural and multilingual patient populations
- Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar and MS Office Suite skills
- Have a servant heart with the desire to make a positive impact
- Bilingual in Spanish, Burmese, Pashto, Rohingya is a plus
