The West Section Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Reliability Team is a performance-driven group dedicated to building the skills, confidence, and expertise to schedule and plan comprehensive work packages for O&M teams. In this role, you will plan and schedule short term and strategic objectives for one of the region’s most complex wastewater treatment systems. About The RoleThis position requires a strong background in mechanical maintenance practices and will be focused on job/event level planning and coordination tasks associated with equipment and process/system maintenance. Additional duties include performing advanced level maintenance planning and scheduling duties to assist section and division management in the development, planning, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive predictive and preventative maintenance program for industrial equipment and systems associated with a wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities. Incumbents will work and coordinate with section management and other supervisory personnel in the development of the program to create a proactive maintenance policy and procedures to optimize maintenance and operations workforce productivity.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform/assist with job scope of work assessments and develop the work plan (to include major materials, support staff/services/equipment) and coordinate with O&M staff and plant system availability to schedule work.
- Research and develop equipment repair procedures inclusive of identifying standard repair parts and tools required, evaluate current stores inventory and add/remove/adjust levels as needed to ensure correct parts are available in required quantities to meet O&M requirements.
- Assist in the development and planning of a comprehensive predictive and preventative maintenance program for assigned treatment plant and associated facilities. Implement and administer program requirements including policies and procedures. Work with section management and plant supervisory staff in determining work priorities and business needs during work order schedule implementation to ensure that the plant operations is in compliance with regulatory requirements on a daily basis.
- Plan, schedule, and determine (annual, monthly, weekly, and/or daily) work order assignments using automated maintenance information reporting systems; Analyze and evaluate work orders and prepare work order scope, parts, materials, labor, and supply requirements; Coordinate material requirements with stores for job initiation; Ensure that work order documentation accurately reflects the work performed by staff.
- Oversee and evaluate maintenance backlogs and determine if scheduling changes are needed based on the plant’s business needs; Determine backlog work priorities; Communicate and coordinate work orders and order changes with maintenance and operations supervisory staff on a regular and continual basis
- Use the automated maintenance information reporting system to provide regular reports to section management and other supervisory and maintenance staff. Analyze and evaluate time, labor and material costs and work with section management and other supervisory and maintenance staff in determining methods to improve work production and life expectancy of equipment
- Identify and determine maintenance work that will be performed by external vendors or contractors and coordinate this work with plant operations and maintenance staff.
- Conduct and/or coordinate regular maintenance planning and scheduling meetings to monitor work progress and to adjust plans and schedules.
- Participate in the annual budget process by estimating the costs of materials, parts and labor that is needed to perform predictive and preventative maintenance work.
- Identify and coordinate with engineering staff the development and preparation of life cycle analysis reports for plant equipment and supporting systems.
- Participate and/or develop and implement policies and procedures associated with predictive and preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Perform Electrical & Mechanical job planning and work scoping including repair parts review and work packaging organization.
- Perform asset validation utilizing the mobile electronic database update program (Maximo AM Module).
Qualifications You Bring:
- Knowledge of skilled trades and demonstrated experience as a journey level worker or knowledge of multi-trade scopes-of-work and experience working in the Industrial Maintenance or equivalent maintenance management program.
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance techniques and principles in an industrial environment and demonstrated skill in applying these principles.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill in understanding the labor, materials, costs, and skill requirements for maintenance work orders performed by skilled trades classifications.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with predictive methods such as oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasound.
- Demonstrated experience in applying troubleshooting and analytical skills in evaluating equipment and/or system problems.
- Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated skill in applying maintenance planning and scheduling techniques and principles in an industrial environment or a wastewater treatment facility.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in working with automated maintenance information reporting system and database software applications for work orders, inventory, and stores functions.

Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is not covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters Local 117 Wastewater Treatment Division, Professional & Technical and Administrative Support (F6).
