This unique role serves as the first point of contact for our patients while also providing Medical Assistant (MA) support when needed. In addition to front desk responsibilities, this position will assist with patient rooming and may fill in as a Medical Assistant during staffing shortages or other operational needs. Schedule & Location
- Full-Time | Monday–Thursday | 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- This position is based in both our Junction City and Manhattan clinics
- Must be able to work two (2) days per week at each clinic
- Reliable transportation between clinic locations is required
What You'll Do
Clinical Reception Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with exceptional customer service
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
- Collect and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required documentation
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Process payments and perform other administrative duties as assigned
Clinical Support Responsibilities
- Provide backup patient rooming support during busy clinic times
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and other patient information
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits as needed
- Perform Medical Assistant duties during staffing shortages or planned absences
- Support efficient patient flow and maintain a positive patient experience
- Cross-train and assist other departments as needed to support clinic operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare or medical specialty setting
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn and perform Medical Assistant rooming duties
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience
- Experience preparing patient charts for medical visits
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Completion of a certified Medical Office, Medical Assistant, or CNA training program
- Bilingual (Spanish)
