Catholic Religious Education Coordinator in Pyeongtaek at Ladgov Corporation

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supporting Catholic religious education and faith formation programs for children, youth, adults, families, and volunteers at the Osan Air Base Chapel.

The Coordinator will work closely with the Catholic Priest/Chaplain, chapel staff, volunteer catechists, parents, and ministry teams to ensure religious education programs are well planned, properly staffed, documented, and delivered in accordance with Roman Catholic teachings and Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) guidance.

• Plan, coordinate, and administer Catholic Religious Education programs for children, youth, adults, and families.
• Develop program calendars, class schedules, activity plans, and special-event schedules.
• Support programs such as CCD, youth ministry, OCIA, Vacation Bible School, retreats, and parent faith formation.
• Coordinate sacramental preparation for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage Preparation.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteer catechists, assistants, chaperones, and other program volunteers.
• Coordinate volunteer orientation, catechist training, child protection training, and VIRTUS requirements.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records, training documentation, contact information, and service hours.
• Maintain student registration, attendance, check-in/check-out, emergency contact, and parent/guardian records.
• Ensure proper accountability and supervision of participating children and youth.
• Coordinate and maintain approved religious education curriculum, instructional materials, and program supplies.
• Review lesson plans and help ensure Catholic teachings and instructional materials are doctrinally accurate.
• Conduct periodic classroom observations and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Communicate program schedules, registration information, educational resources, and sacramental preparation information to parents and families.
• Coordinate classrooms, meeting spaces, and facility requirements for religious education activities.
• Assist with annual program budgeting, expense tracking, resource planning, and funding requests.
• Prepare announcements, bulletins, registration materials, parent information packets, flyers, and other program communications.
• Prepare program reports and maintain organized administrative and continuity records.
• Support special programs, retreats, youth activities, Catholic community events, and other approved chapel activities as scheduled.

Candidates must meet one of the following education or experience requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Theological Studies, Religious Studies, or a closely related field; or
• Bachelor’s degree with a minor in Theology, Theological Studies, Religious Studies, or a closely related field; or
• Associate degree in Theology, Theological Studies, Religious Studies, or a closely related field; or
• At least 10 years of documented experience teaching children in a religious education environment.

• Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
• Must be able to provide a letter from a current or most recent pastor confirming good standing.
• Must possess, be actively pursuing, or be willing to begin pursuing Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) Catechist Certification within the required timeframe.
• Must successfully complete required background screening and child/youth protection requirements.
• Must complete required VIRTUS and child protection training and maintain all required training throughout the position.
• Strong organizational, communication, scheduling, recordkeeping, and volunteer-coordination skills are required.
• Must be comfortable working with children, youth, parents, volunteers, clergy, and chapel staff.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator or Director.
• At least 5 years of experience teaching within a Catholic Religious Education Program.
• Experience coordinating volunteer-led church, chapel, youth, sacramental preparation, or faith formation programs.

The position requires approximately 48 hours of service per month, normally limited to 12 hours per week. Hours may vary based on religious education classes, sacramental preparation, meetings, retreats, youth programs, Vacation Bible School, volunteer training, and special chapel events.

Flexibility to support scheduled weekday, evening, or weekend religious education activities may be required.
