Manager of Strategic Finance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager of Strategic Finance based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to directly influence financial strategy and operational sustainability within a mission-driven organization.
You will help ensure strong financial stewardship by managing cash flow, reserves, investments, and restricted fund planning.
Working at the intersection of finance, operations, and revenue teams, you will translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
The position combines advanced modeling, strategic analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support long-term organizational goals.
You will play a key role in ensuring resources are allocated responsibly while enabling impactful programs and commitments.

Accountabilities:

As Manager of Strategic Finance, you will support strategic decision-making by providing rigorous financial analysis, managing liquidity planning, and ensuring alignment between financial resources and organizational commitments.

  • Translate revenue projections into actionable cash planning and collaborate with operational teams to establish financial capacity forecasts.
  • Monitor organizational cash flow, identify potential risks, and support strategic decisions around liquidity management and fund timing.
  • Own the tracking, forecasting, and reporting of operational reserves while providing leadership with visibility into risks and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain multi-year financial models supporting investment planning, liquidity scenarios, and long-term strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate investment scenarios by forecasting potential returns, assessing risk/reward tradeoffs, and analyzing liquidity implications.
  • Manage restricted fund planning and ensure donor commitments align with available capacity and operational requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional planning efforts with finance, revenue, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate allocation and reporting of funds.
  • Develop multi-year deployment models to support strategic planning and identify future opportunities and risks.
  • Provide analytical insights that help stakeholders understand financial trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Improve financial processes and workflows by leveraging technology, automation, and AI-driven efficiencies.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a strategic finance professional with strong analytical capabilities, excellent attention to detail, and experience managing complex financial initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic finance, financial analysis, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, forecasting, modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with cash management, liquidity planning, investment analysis, or nonprofit restricted funds is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling and analysis.
  • Experience working with financial systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to move between detailed analysis and strategic insights.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear recommendations for diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence decision-making.
  • Adaptability with financial systems, technology tools, and AI solutions to improve efficiency and workflows.
  • Highly detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and quality deliverables.
