Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Characteristics of the Class:
Determine what materials are needed to be run off the sheeter schedule for the NTP cutter to run. Determine what order the materials are to be run so that the Assembly Department may be serviced in a timely manner. Service the NTP cutter regularly and the Decollators as time permits and as needed throughout the shift.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Run sheeter/treater schedules in Oracle to determine what needs to be run each shift and schedule them to run in the order they will be needed according to Assembly department needs.
2. Get rolls from the warehouse, split rolls as needed, set up the material to be run for the NTP cutter, in order to service Assembly in a timely manner.
3. Look up rolls to be run and determine the amounts to be sheeted by the NTP cutter, calculate the footage and split rolls to meet the needs of what’s required for the WIP jobs.
4. Follow all ISO procedures as written
5. Have an excellent knowledge of the Min-Max system; use the Min-Max system to determine quantities to be run. Follow the min/max screen to ensure that the material to be sheeted is correct, make sure it’s not to be sheeted over the max levels.
6. Operate a lift truck/clamp truck safely to retrieve rolls of decorative paper to be sheeted, able to follow all lift truck rules and requirements.
7. Evaluate and inspect the decorative paper for defects, contact the Quality Lab and your management for non-conforming material(s).
8. Create WIP jobs for the NTP cutter, ensure jobs are completed correctly, with correct weights and sheets to push the jobs.
9. Operate the bar code machine to correctly label all material being returned to stock (RTS).
10. Regular Attendance Required.
11. Be able to learn how to operate the NTP cutter and the Hand Cutter, so that you can fill in for these positions as needed.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Excellent computer skills are needed.
- Have knowledge of all Melamine sheeter’s room positions.
- Have the ability to perform multiple job duties, and be able to work independent with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required; however, candidates with at least one (1) year of verifiable work experience in lieu of a diploma or GED will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
One year of work experience to include 6 months of Melamine experience and is knowledgeable at working with Oracle and Min-Max systems. If no candidates possess this requirement, the company will consider accepting applicants with one year of manufacturing experience. Must have excellent math and computer skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work. Tasks involves pushing / pulling of material up to 100lbs, lifting up to 85lbs from floor to mid-thigh, lift up to 50lbs from mid-thigh to shoulder, lift 40lbs from shoulder to overhead, carry up to 135lbs and standing and walking during a minimum ten hour shift.
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
