Position Summary
RHD, an affiliate of Apis Services, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Barnegat Group Home.
The Lead DSP works closely with Group Home Management to ensure quality care, compliance with agency standards, and effective communication with guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners. This role combines direct support responsibilities with leadership, mentoring, and oversight of daily residential operations.

Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Program Support- Partner with Group Home Managers to ensure program standards and quality services are maintained.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
- Support daily residential operations and ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
Provide direct support to individuals served in the following areas:
- Daily living skills, including cooking, housekeeping, and personal hygiene
- Health and wellness support, including personal care and healthy lifestyle practices
- Community integration through shopping, recreational activities, and social outings
- Social and emotional development, including communication skills and relationship building
- Budgeting, money management, and independent living skills
- Communicate effectively with guardians, medical providers, and community agencies.
- Advocate for residents' rights, choices, independence, and dignity.
- Promote person-centered services and individualized support.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum of 3 years of DSP experience supporting individuals with behavioral needs
- Ability to successfully complete:
- State and federal criminal background checks
- Drug screening
- Pre-employment physical and PPD testing
- Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training
- One year of lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience
