Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3am – 3pm

Heartland Label Printers is a printing company specializing in pressure sensitive labels. We have had continuous growth since 1990, by serving the transportation, grocery and pharmaceutical industries along with many other markets. POSITION SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring all press equipment is supplied with the appropriate raw materials to support production schedules safely, efficiently, and accurately. This position spends approximately 60% of the time operating a forklift to transport stock and manage inventory throughout the facility. Success in this role requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review production work orders to determine material requirements and quantities needed for upcoming jobs.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport, stock, and replenish materials at production equipment.
  • Maintain organized material staging areas and ensure materials are stored in designated locations.
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels and support inventory accuracy through established inventory procedures and systems.
  • Remove unused materials, pallets, and supplies from production areas upon job completion and return them to appropriate warehouse locations.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing incoming deliveries.
  • Empty waste containers and recycling bins as needed.
  • Maintain the operation and cleanliness of the compactor area.
  • Support and maintain 5S workplace organization standards throughout warehouse and production areas.
  • Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, or operational concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

Required

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Dependable attendance and reliability.

Preferred

  • Previous forklift experience and/or forklift certification.
  • Experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling environment.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.

Work Environment

This position is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.

Production Environment (75%+ of work time)

  • Indoor manufacturing setting.
  • Regular exposure to noise, moving machinery, temperature fluctuations, dust, and production-related activities.
  • Frequent interaction with forklift traffic and industrial equipment.
