About the Role:
The Non Union Lead Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment within our facility. This position is responsible for leading janitorial staff to ensure all areas meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which directly supports operational efficiency and employee safety. The Lead Janitor will coordinate daily cleaning schedules, manage supplies, and oversee the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. This role requires proactive problem-solving to address any sanitation issues promptly and to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Lead Janitor ensures that the manufacturing environment is conducive to productivity and reflects the company’s commitment to quality and care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in janitorial or custodial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment operation.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in industrial cleaning or facility maintenance.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering systems.
- Familiarity with green cleaning products and sustainable cleaning practices.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment maintenance.
- Strong communication and team-building skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the janitorial team to perform daily cleaning tasks across the manufacturing facility, including floors, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure all areas are maintained consistently and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to avoid shortages.
- Train new janitorial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations, addressing any issues immediately.
- Collaborate with facility management to coordinate cleaning activities around production schedules to minimize disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and maintenance requests.
