We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activities Assistant to join our team and help enrich the lives of our residents through engaging programs, meaningful relationships, and memorable experiences.

As an Activities Assistant, you will work alongside our Social Network Director to create and facilitate programs that support residents' physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual well-being. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, planning events, and making a positive impact every day.

Essential Responsibilities
Resident Engagement & Programming
Assist in developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a diverse calendar of activities and events.
Facilitate group and individual programs that promote resident engagement and quality of life.
Encourage resident participation and foster meaningful involvement in community activities.
Visit with residents regularly to learn about their interests, preferences, and personal histories.
Create a welcoming, inclusive, and homelike environment where residents feel valued and connected.
Event Planning & Community Involvement
Assist with planning and preparing the community's weekly activity newsletter and event communications.
Help coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, educational programs, outings, and entertainment.
Develop relationships with local organizations, volunteers, and community partners to enhance programming opportunities.
Support resident-led activities and encourage resident contributions to community life.
Transportation & Resident Support
Assist with resident transportation for appointments, outings, and community events as assigned.
Ensure resident safety and comfort during activities and transportation.
Provide support during programs to maximize participation and enjoyment.
Team Collaboration & Compliance
Work collaboratively with all departments to create exceptional resident experiences.
Follow established policies, procedures, and regulations governing activities programming.
Maintain resident confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Participate in state surveys and regulatory inspections as needed.
Adhere to infection control practices, safety standards, and universal precautions.
Report absences, tardiness, concerns, and resident needs promptly to the supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in senior living, activities programming, recreation, hospitality, customer service, or related fields preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with older adults and their families.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to lead group activities and engage residents with varying interests and abilities.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events.
